Portrait On Campus

Meet Richard. He was kind enough to model for my recent assignment which involved capturing a portrait on campus. This image was taken using my Canon 30D and a Canon 17-50mm lens.

Tilt Shift Fun

I recently borrowed a Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L lens from school. The only thing I don't like about this lens is that I didn't want to put it down! Everything in my path became a prospective subject. Fun times! Here are a few of my favorites, although it was tough to narrow it down.

All images in this post were captured using the previously mentioned tilt shift lens, on a Canon 40D.

A Great Day at the Fetner's

Ashley Fetner, my portrait instructor, invited our class to his home to see how his studio is set up and how he manages his portrait business.

Capturing Hindu-Indian Bridal Culture

A beautiful friend and classmate modeled for this assignment. Tiffany Abbassi http://tiffanymabbassiphotography.blogspot.com/ plays the part perfectly for a project I had envisioned for some time. She helped make it exactly what I had hoped it would be. This first image is the one that I submitted for my assignment. However, it was very difficult to choose a favorite, so here are my top picks. All images were shot with my Canon 30D, using a Canon 24-105mm f/4 IS lens. The lighting was studio lights and consisted of 2 soft boxes, rear fill lights and one accent light.

Alyssa's First Birthday

I recently attended the first birthday party for a beautiful little girl named Alyssa. She had so much fun making a mess with all of the cake. My fun was in capturing the day for her mom and dad!

Happy Fall Ya'll!

It's that time of year again. Time for the Asheboro Fall Festival. The event is held every year, during the first weekend of October. The downtown roads are blocked off and the streets are lined with vendors serving up delicious foods as well as amazing crafts from all over the country!

This event certainly draws a crowd!
